The Law and Equity Department of the Bronx County Clerk's Office is where all actions for Bronx Civil Supreme Court commence. The services that our department provide vary depending on the type of case and whether the case is being initiated or is already active. Although our office will help with the purchase of index numbers or the filing of papers, we can not Provide Legal Advice. Thus, we suggest that before you commence an action or if you are involved in an action, you seek legal counsel before proceeding with any action on the case. SERVICES AND FEES

Documents That Can Be Purchased

To commence a legal action in the Bronx County Clerks Office you can purchase a Summons w/Notice, Summons w/Complaint or Verified Complaint, Notice of Petition, Order to Show Cause or Separation Agreement. Other documents that can be purchased once the case has been filed include RJI's, NOI's, Notice of Appeal, Certificates and Posting for Transferring of Actions to other Counties. Fees for documents are as follows.

Documents That Can Be Filed

Examples of papers that can be filed directly with our office are Defendant's Answers, Affidavits of Service, Annual Accounts, Copies of Orders or Judgments w/Notice of Entry and Notice of Removal. Other papers such as Motion Papers and their Exhibits, certain Judgments and Orders must first be presented to the Motion Support Office.

Orders and Judgments are considered entered when either File Stamped by our office or Counter-Signed by the County Clerk.
